Relationships and Sex Education (RSE)

Relationships and Sex Education

During the Spring and Summer of 2020 we have established a working party of parents and our Foundation governors and Reverend to support the teaching of Relationships and Sex Education at Woodseaves.

We are following guidance from the Lichfield Diocese of Education and the Church of England to ensure that our approach ensures that children are able to cherish themselves and others as unique and wonderfully made, keep themselves safe and able to form healthy relationships where they respect and afford dignity to others. We will provide children with the knowledge that will enable them to navigate and contextualise in a world in which many will try to tell them how to behave, what to do and what to think. It will help them to develop the skills to express their own views and make their own informed decisions. This is a shared responsibility between parents and the school. We will update this page with our progress.

The first working party meeting is the 13th January 2020 at 2pm, the agenda will cover the whole school approach, draft policy and viewing of a selection of sex education materials purchased by the school.

Our second working party meeting will focus on the relationships education at the school and viewing a section of resources relating to this area of the curriculum.
