Parking Concerns due to Village Road Closure
As the majority of you will know the A519, the main road through Woodseaves is closed due to extensive work by Severn Trent. This is having a huge impact on the village and surrounding areas and will continue to do so for several weeks.
We have liaised with Amey/ Severn Trent today and the following arrangements have been discussed with them and will be in place tomorrow.
Parents are kindly requested NOT TO PARK on the stretch of road which runs from the school car park entrance to the junction of Dicky’s Lane/ B5405 ie the narrowest section. This is to minimise the potential risk to safety and damage to your vehicle
There will be a representative of Amey further along the B5405, out of Woodseaves, turning any HGVs around as they approach the village as they are the main cause of concern turning into Dicky’s Lane.
Parents are still able to park on the rough ground, alongside the B5405, opposite the junction and in Dicky’s Lane, away from the car park entrance towards the A519.
We would ask you to exercise caution at this busy time and allow yourself more time to make the journey to school and park.
We have arranged for alternative parking for the morning drop-off and afternoon collection at the Woodseaves Village Hall. The barrier will be up and parents are welcome to park there in order to avoid Dicky’s Lane completely.
School staff will also be outside the gates before school starts to ensure the pupils arrive safely and assist parents who may wish to drop their children swiftly.
