Jude from The House of Bread visited school on Monday and spoke to the children, in our collective worship, about the work that they do and about how important our food donations are in helping homeless people or those in difficult circumstances.
Jude left with a boot full of food and toiletries and was so grateful to all the children, staff and parents that had donated. Thank you!
All the children took part in an African dance workshop with Bemma from African Ark. The children tried out lots of traditional African dance moves which they put together into an Olympic themed dance.
Our fun Sports Morning went ahead with all the children trying out wheelchair basket ball, archery, fencing and bubble football. The feedback from the children was ‘brilliant fun!”
Unfortunately due to the weather forecast for rain tomorrow we have had to postpone our Sports Afternoon until next Tuesday (July 5th). The children should come to school tomorrow in their uniform as usual with their PE kits if they are not already in school. Fingers crossed for better weather next week.
The school celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday with a ‘street’ style party across the length of our playground. We ended the party by singing happy Birthday to Her Majesty as loud as we could so she could hear us in London.
Thank you to Rev. Kathryn who delivered a lovely Collective Worship yesterday morning to celebrate Pentecost-the
birthday of The Church. The children listened to the Bible story that retold the events and Rev Kathryn explained
how God sent His Holy Spirit to help the disciples to start the Christian Church.
All the children walked down to Knightley Church for an Ascension day Service today. Revd. Kathryn led a lovely service with bible readings by Charlie Watt and Sara Stotter which enabled all the children to explore the meaning of Jesus’ ascension into heaven. The service culminated with the symbolic release of a balloon outside in the gorgeous sunshine. A lovely moment.
Year 5/6 visited Cadbury World on April 11th as part of their work on Aztecs. They really enjoyed the trip and thought it was really interesting place to visit as it brought their learning to life and they came back with some chocolate!
Well done to all the children for participating in our Sports Relief Hour. The children took part in a dancethon, cross country and circuit training in their house teams. It was great fun being active and raising money for Sports relief!
Thank you to all the staff, children and parents that supported our Fair Trade Stall last week. We are pleased to announce that we raised £175.00! Don’t forget to continue to support Fair Trade by looking out for products in your Supermarket.
