Forest School

Forest Schools allows children to learn, explore, increase self-esteem and gain confidence within an outdoor learning environment: through nature.

We have developed the woodland areas within our school grounds so that we have our own onsite Forest School. It allows children to experience outdoor learning in a flexible, self-led & adult-led way; ensuring that they learn and use their imagination through new experiences; becoming highly motivated, confident, enthusiastic learners and explorers.

Among the many activities they take part in, children learn how to safely use different outdoor tools as well as playing games, ‘create’ using natural resources and cook over a campfire. They are supervised by a qualified Forest School Leader, Miss R Smeilus and safety rules are taught to the children. They learn in a variety of weathers and in all seasons; this is all part of Forest School.
