The children in Reception spent a wonderful afternoon with Nanna Ferry, looking at all the toys she used to play with when she was a child.
What a fun day the children had, dressed in their own or spotty clothes. They all made “spotty” biscuits in the Hall in the afternoon and played fun games.
Our own brave Woodseaves Knights visiting Stafford Castle!
Thank you to everyone that came to our community morning on Saturday to start our revamp of the Quiet Area. It was hard work but we managed to clear the area thanks to Mr Gough’s mini digger and lots of wheelbarrows full of soil and concrete. Thank you to Mrs Armishaw for the lovely brownies, they were very much appreciated. There is more work to be done but the aim is to get it finished before we break for Summer. Next job will be laying the path!
On Monday classes 2 and 3 were fortunate to take part in a songwriting workshop with 2 members of Manchester Camerata, using Shakespeare’s Macbeth as a stimulus. The song that they created together sounded great and the descriptive language the children came up with for the lyrics, were really effective! All the children and teachers found it a fascinating and enjoyable experience. They will be performing their songs at the GateHouse Theatre on February 13th.
Class 1 & reception had a wonderful time visiting Santa and his Reindeer’s at Birches Valley.
Woodseaves CE Academy held a fencing competition here on Thursday. Well done to our team A who came second, losing to another school by one point. Special congratulations go to Katie Millward who won a medal for achieving the highest individual score! Well done to all the children who took part.
